Born in Tehran, Tannaz Alavi grew up in Iran before studying in Cyprus and relocating to the US for higher education. The design profession came naturally to her. Tannaz comes from a large background of engineers and designers and always looked up to her dad, inspired by his talent, dedication, and work ethic as a civil engineer. Her broad background encompasses all factors of residential, commercial, interior design, and construction, and credits her experience in both architecture and construction management to her effective communication and leadership skills. She was drawn to Hickok Cole’s mission, aligning our values with her own as her most memorable and rewarding projects have been those that improve the lives of the end-users and community. As an international citizen, it comes as no surprise that Tannaz speaks many languages, including English, Persian, Turkish, and Arabic. For fun, she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and camping, as well as playing the piano, painting, and practicing yoga and meditation.
