Occupying a prominent location in NPY’s Phase 1 development, Block 10 serves as the connection between Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus and the Innovation District. It’s been selected by the university to house approximately 75,000 SF of incubator office space–connecting the academic and commercial worlds both literally and figuratively. The mass divides into separate office towers atop a two-story base with ground-floor retail. The North tower’s skin is inspired by a veil and expressed as a singular, taut curtainwall with a ceramic frit pattern that lifts at the base to reveal retail and public space.
