Joe O’Connor

Project Architect

“The built space has so many functions, both visible and invisible, and depending on the perspective it can also be the focus or background of so many people’s lives.”

After completing his Masters, Joe gained experience working on a selection of commercial interiors projects before slowly shifting his focus towards base building repositioning projects, most notably several rooftop additions. At Hickok Cole, he continues honing his base building specialty, contributing to the development of large-scale commercial and multifamily projects across the DMV. Joe is part of Hickok Cole’s DEIA council, which works to set firmwide goals, lead conversations and facilitate initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. During the winter, you can often find him out on a mountain with skis or a snowboard. He also probably plays too many board games.
