Recently, one of our mass timber experts, Principal and Director of Project Production + Technology, Jason Wright, AIA, gave DC-area content creator and realtor Joe Himali of Best Address a tour of our office project at 80 M Street SE. In a video, Joe explores how Hickok Cole helped transform the Navy Yard building through a first-of-its-kind vertical expansion. The project added more than 100,000 SF across three new stories using exposed mass timber framing.
Completed in 2022, 80 M Street SE became the first exposed mass timber, two-hour fire-rated structure on the East Coast and the first commercial mass timber office expansion in DC.
