John Lang tapped to lead Richmond Office

John Lang, AIA has been appointed Director of our Richmond, VA office. In this role, John will oversee office operations and design efforts while driving the firm’s strategic vision and growth across the southeast region.

Yolanda Cole, co-founder and Senior Principal, expressed her enthusiasm about John’s appointment, stating, “John’s human-focused design approach and dedication to creating meaningful places and spaces perfectly align with our firm’s values. His expertise will be a valuable asset to the Richmond community.”

With over two decades of experience in the architecture and design industry, John brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to his new role. He holds a Master of Architecture degree and a Master of Sustainable Design degree from The Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Maryland. John’s design philosophy revolves around infusing each project with purpose, meaning, and a sense of place.

His portfolio includes a diverse range of design projects, notably mixed-use developments and residential facilities including the Wellsmith at Libbie Mill Midtown in Richmond and St. Albans Lofts, a mixed-use project in Raleigh, NC. Having relocated to Richmond after more than a decade at the firm’s Washington, DC office, John’s expertise will further enrich the architectural landscape of the region.

In his new capacity, John Lang will focus on expanding Hickok Cole’s network of strategic partners in Richmond, leading project design and working closely with firm leadership to fulfill the mission of delivering meaningful work to their team, clients, and community.
