Past Meets Present

Past Meets Present

1025 Thomas Jefferson

Fusing together the past, present, and future, this reinterpretation of 1025 Thomas Jefferson offers a refreshing take on its historical foundations. Located in Georgetown, one of DC’s most storied neighborhoods, the office building stands as a reimagined space that blends modern comfort and timeless character.

The polished concrete floors of the spec suites and the exposed brick throughout the space pay homage to Georgetown’s architectural legacy. These raw materials visually echo the neighborhood’s industrial past, showcasing its natural beauty and age.

With soft interiors and modern finishes, the tenant lounge is one of the building’s most notable features, where residents and guests entering the building are met with an inviting and hospitable feeling.

Throughout the building, enlarged windows flood the interiors with natural light, accentuating the vivid textures and warm color palettes that restore the charm and character to the original structures. Cool-toned accents were added to bring a level of sophistication and relief to the spaces.

The interiors of the upgraded locker rooms and fitness center draw inspiration from the building’s iconic brick archways, achieving the sought-after balance between contemporary vision and historical continuity. These innovative and forward-thinking modifications set the design precedent for the rest of the building.
