Supporting Local Artists & Washington Project for the Arts

On Thursday, October 25th, the Washington, DC art and real estate communities came together in celebration of local artists at Hickok Cole’s Art Night – an annual exhibit and fundraiser benefitting Washington Project for the Arts. Curator Judy Sherman of Art. At Work. selected compelling works by local contemporary artists working in a variety of media. Art Night 2018 generated $110,000 in artwork sales, with many pieces still available. Art Night will be on display for an additional week, closing Friday, November 2nd. Interested buyers are encouraged to contact Washington Project for the Arts for a private tour.

Now in its 18th year, Art Night has raised over $1,000,000 in support of WPA’s mission to support artist-driven projects, advocacy, and dialogue so that artists can live, work, and flourish. Patrons show their support in two ways: attending Art Night and, more importantly, BUYING ART. With event expenses sponsored by Hickok Cole, each sale benefits both WPA and the artists directly, with all proceeds shared equally between the two. This year’s collection features over 200 works at a variety of price points – bringing pieces that are compelling and affordable for experienced and aspiring collectors alike.

Hickok Cole generated $72,500 in advance sales through our Art Angel and Art Cherub programs. Each Art Angel commits $2,500 towards the purchase of art at Art Night, with Art Cherubs committing $500 each.
