Innovation District Pump Station wins AIA Northern Virginia Award of Excellence

Last week, our project, the Innovation District Pump Station, took home the Award of Excellence in the Transportation + Infrastructure Architecture category at the annual American Institute of Architects (AIA) Northern Virginia Design Awards.

As the highest honor for each category, an Award of Excellence recognizes projects that pair exceptional design with a strong commitment to many of the 10 principles of the AIA Framework for Design Excellence. Check out the full press release to learn more.

Our architecture and creative branding teams collaborated to reimagine a 7,800‑sf pump station in Alexandria, VA. More than just a utilitarian facility housing essential pipes and equipment, the Innovation District Pump Station also serves as an educational, interactive, community-facing pavilion.
