Paxton is a 100% affordable, wood-frame project located in Northeast Washington, DC that welcomes families of various sizes and incomes. Offering eight studios, 87 one-bedroom units, 16 two-bedroom units, and 37 three-bedroom units, Paxton is a project that contributes to the effort to end family homelessness.

Equipped with a business center, landscaped courtyard, fitness center, and clubhouse, as well as garage parking, bike storage, concierge services, and security, this project provides 5,300 SF of amenities with high-quality resources and services. Going beyond what is expected of an affordable project, Paxton delivers welcoming and safe spaces, purposed for cultivating a healthy and active community.

Paxton was first conceived as a modular project but transitioned to traditional frame construction prior to being built. This seamless and cost-effective shift generated cost savings that allowed the budget to include advanced sustainable features including solar panels, a green roof, and bioretention and stormwater management systems.

In addition to being designed to meet DC’s new Energy Code, one of the most rigorous in the nation, Paxton also meets the first cycle of the City’s Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) program.
