Art Night 2024 Raises $131,700 for WPA and Local Artists
Hosted in partnership with Washington Project for the Arts (WPA), Art Night has raised $1.9 million in its 24-year history.
Washington, DC—October 29, 2024— This October, Hickok Cole celebrated its 24th annual Art Night, welcoming a full house at its Union Market District headquarters and raising $131,700 to support Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) and the local artist community. More than 450 artists, collectors, and members of the DC real estate community gathered on the evening of October 17th to mark the launch of the Art Night 2024 gallery.
“We’re proud to co-host Art Night, where creativity, community, and the arts come together,” said Senior Principal Yolanda Cole. “It’s a true celebration of the art community, and we’re honored to help it grow. Our partnership with WPA makes this night possible, and it’s exciting to see the event thrive year after year.
The week-long Art Night gallery was available both virtually and in-person, enabling Hickok Cole’s online network to participate in the event. The 2024 collection, curated by WPA, showcased over 235 works by 100+ local artists across various media. Special attention was given to highlighting resident artists from the neighborhoods surrounding Hickok Cole’s offices, including NoMa, the Union Market District, Gallaudet University, and Richmond, VA. As always, sales directly benefited WPA and the artists.
“This year’s Art Night built on the momentum of past events, delivering another unforgettable evening,” said Emeritus Principal Mike Hickok, a founding force behind Art Night. “After 24 years of support from our community, we’re nearing the $2 million mark raised for WPA, a testament to the event’s lasting impact. Art Night started as a way to bring together DC’s creative minds, and it continues to thrive because of the strong connection between art and design—core values that drive both the firm and artist community.”
Art Night is made possible through the support of sponsors—Art Devils, Art Angels, and Art Cherubs—who pre-committed to purchase artwork for a collective contribution of $89,000.
