Bachelor of Architecture, Politecnico di Milano
Stefano Sani is a registered architect in Italy and recently joined Hickok Cole Architects as a Senior Associate and Senior Project Designer. He graduated at Politecnico di Milano in 1995. Since 2008 he has been a LEED Accredited Professional, a member of the USGBC and was recently named Vice-Chair of the Trentino Alto Adige Chapter of the Italian Green Building Council (GBCI).
Before joining Hickok Cole Architects he directed his own design firm Studio Artemis in Italy and worked two years in Paris, France and 5 years in the USA. While in Paris his work was mainly focused on XIXth century buildings renovations. In the USA he designed different international and local projects and was a part of the design team for the recently completed Leed Platinum San Francisco Public Utility Commission building. As an Italian licensed architect his portfolio includes a diverse array of building types such as civic, corporate headquarters, hospitality, k-12 schools, housing and infrastructure.
In Italy he is currently designing a winery nested in the vineyards of the Rotaliana Plaine and is coordinating the design process for Progetto Manifattura, a public project of the local administration which is transforming a dismissed industrial site into a worldwide level green economy incubator. As the LEED AP of the project he has also coordinated and driven its sustainable design process.
During his trips back to Italy he always tries to find a moment for mountain biking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter to enjoy the surrounding Dolomites.
