Matthew Hosko is a Project Designer with Hickok Cole’s RVA Studio, where he leads the architectural practice. Matt’s experience ranges from mixed-use campus repositioning projects to multi-modal transit hub rehabilitations. Respected for his ability to marry innovative architectural interventions within the existing framework of large urban developments, Matt brings thoughtful market-driven design solutions to office, residential, retail, restaurant, transit and master planning projects.
Matt’s design philosophy is rooted in pragmatism – his approach begins with a pre-development analysis that informs his design through the lens of his client and often begins with digital sketching. With respect for context and history, Matt revolutionizes buildings and neighborhoods with a developer’s orientation to architecture.
Prior to re-joining Hickok Cole, Matt worked in Manhattan within Gensler’s Real Estate Development Practice Area where he led architectural design for the repositioning team. There, his clients included multi-million square foot developments for Black Rock, Kushner and Blackstone. Matt previously worked for EDENS Real Estate in Washington, DC doing feasibility analysis and conceptual design for ground-up development projects.
