John Lang

RVA Studio Director

“My passion lies in exploring the transformative power of spaces on human experience. As designers we play a critical role in creating lasting and meaningful impressions.”

John’s design career began as an owner/partner of a design-build firm, driven by a fascination with understanding how buildings come together and the positive impact they can have on people. As a design leader, John is passionate about infusing meaning, purpose, and a sense of place into every project, aiming to create lasting memories for those who interact with the spaces he designs. He drives innovation in building design and construction, focusing on research and development of strategies involving mass timber and prefabrication. Outside of the office, John’s spirit of exploration extends to his personal life. He enjoys traveling and discovering new places spontaneously, sketchbook in hand, doodling and drawing his impressions along the way.
