Architect, Paris-Belleville School of Architecture (ENSAPB)
Joël Onorato is a French and Italian architect and structural engineer who recently moved to DC from Paris, France and has joined our Housing group. While working in Paris, he published research on the history and theory of architecture in Criticat, an independent journal of architectural criticism, based in Paris. This past year, Joël was awarded an iLab Microgrant to work on his research project, Waste Less, Reuse More, an investigation into the circular economy in the building industry. He was recently interviewed by the Washington Business Journal as an expert in the field of reuse of materials, for their piece “When it comes to building design, what’s old is new again.” In his free time, he loves cooking French and Italian food and practicing painting.
