PEGCC is an advocacy, communications and research association for the global private equity industry. The organization desired a more open and connected work environment with an aesthetic that is commensurate with the organizations they serve. The challenge was to accommodate this while maintaining a predominately private office environment within a long, linear floor plate.

Located in the heart of Chinatown this second-floor space has floor-to-ceiling glass that connects the staff to the views and energy along H Street.Glass-fronted offices along the corridor connect the staff and provide natural light to the interior. Oak veneer panels add warmth and variety.

In order to break up the long corridor, geometry and materiality vary in texture, reflectivity and transparency to create a dynamic experience throughout the day.  Angled blue-glass square panels incorporate the company brand and create a reflective sculptural element that adds privacy and interest along the main circulation route. Lighting at the base gives the illusion that the panels are floating. Using PEGCC’s brand, the large blue-glass squares are upholstered in the boardroom and the orientation of the fabric alternates, adding movement and interest as the light hits the wall. Using the space efficiently, the boardroom opens to the reception area to accommodate large events.

PEGCC desired a transparent, modern space where staff could complete focus work while having the opportunity to work and socialize together in small settings. Varying sized meeting rooms located along the corridor provide choice. The café includes unique seating areas, encouraging employees to relax.
