4001 South Capitol Street, SW
Located in Northeast DC, 4001 South Capitol is a new mixed-use affordable housing development combining apartments and ground-level retail. The project is a redevelopment of an existing shopping center in Ward 8 to a six-story building with 195 residential units, 5,000 SF of community space, and one level of below grade parking. All units will be reserved for households at or below 60 percent Area Median Income (AMI), and 78 units will be restricted to households at or below 30 percent AMI and targeted to formerly homeless individuals and families in need of permanent supportive housing.
The new building will feature amenities for community use, including fitness and business centers, a community room, and office space for Advisory Neighborhood Commission 8D. The building is conveniently located within half a mile of the Bellevue Neighborhood Library, the Department of Employment Services Job Center, and the Conway Health and Resource Center.
